
What AI can’t see, feel, or help you implement
And why human strategists still matter
AI is everywhere.
It’s fast. It’s smart.
And let’s be honest, it’s tempting.
You can ask it for a positioning statement, a brand personality, even a full-on launch plan, and boom. Instant answers.
But here’s the uncomfortable truth:
It might be technically correct.
But strategically? It’s still dead wrong.
Because strategy isn’t about answers.
It’s about the questions.
The context.
The ability to spot the gap between what someone says and what they really mean.
AI can’t do that.
But I can – because I’m human. And I listen differently.

Real brand strategy requires intuition
Sometimes on a client call, someone says something in passing and their eyes light up. Or their voice changes just slightly.
That’s my cue to dig deeper.
We weren’t even planning to go there, but that’s the thread we pull. That’s where the gold is.
Try telling ChatGPT to notice a spark in someone’s voice.
Try asking it when your client’s posture shifted or when they got suddenly uncomfortable (which usually means we’re getting close to the truth).
This is not about woo.
It’s about emotional intelligence.
Pattern recognition.
Discernment.
AI doesn’t have intuition. It doesn’t have instincts.
And it definitely doesn’t know when someone is lying to themselves in real time.
And even if you get a halfway decent strategy out of it…
You’re still left with two giant problems:
1. The strategy is likely generic, vague, or just flat-out wrong
The right answer depends entirely on asking the right questions.
Most people don’t know what questions actually matter or how to filter the noise.
2. You still don’t know how to implement it
Strategy isn’t the end. It’s the starting line.
And most AI-generated strategies stop at insight but don’t help you turn those insights into action.
